A clear answer about information

Privacy policy

The Doodle Den is built to be a useful, low-friction guide for doodle-mix homes. This page explains the small amount of information the site may receive, why it may be used, and what the current site does not do.

01 / Contact

You choose what to send.

If you email The Doodle Den, we receive the email address and message details that your email service includes and that you choose to write or attach. We use that information to read, respond to, and keep track of the conversation when needed.

The Doodle Den does not currently operate a separate contact form. Please do not send sensitive information unless it is necessary for your message.

02 / Browser storage

A small preference can stay in your browser.

The affiliate disclosure banner can remember that you dismissed it. That preference is stored locally in your browser under the key the-doodle-den:affiliate-disclosure:dismissed. It is a browser preference, not a contact record.

The site also stores your optional measurement choice in a first-party cookie named the_doodle_den_cookie_consent. It records accepted or declined and lasts for 180 days unless you clear it sooner. Until you choose, optional outbound-click measurement stays off.

03 / Measurement

Measurement is configuration-dependent.

When site analytics are enabled for a deployment, a page-load beacon may be sent to the configured analytics service. The site may create a browser-stored visitor identifier so repeat page loads can be understood as coming from the same browser.

If outbound-click measurement is enabled in a deployment, the site may also record that a visitor selected an outbound link, such as a recommendation link, only after you accept optional analytics. If you decline, the site does not emit those optional outbound events; ordinary navigation and affiliate links continue to work. External retailer sites have their own cookies and privacy practices, which are not controlled by this choice.

04 / Site operation

Basic technical data helps pages work.

Like most websites, the hosting and delivery systems may handle basic technical information needed to serve pages, protect the service, troubleshoot failures, and understand whether a request is working. Depending on the hosting environment, that can include an IP address, browser or device details, request time, requested page, and basic error or security information. We do not use this page to promise a fixed retention period for that operational data.

05 / Use and sharing

Information stays tied to the reason it arrived.

We use information to operate The Doodle Den, respond to messages, maintain site reliability, understand configured site performance, and protect the service. We do not sell the information described here.

Information may be handled by service providers that host, secure, deliver, or measure the site, but only as needed for those site functions. We may also disclose information when required to address security, fraud, legal obligations, or a serious threat to people or the service.

06 / Limits

We keep the promise practical.

We aim to collect and retain only what is useful for the purpose above, but no online service can promise perfect security or indefinite availability. Access to information is limited to the people and systems that need it for the site’s work.

This policy describes the current Doodle Den site, not every service linked from a recommendation. An outbound retailer or other third-party site has its own privacy practices, which you should review before sharing information there.
